4/10 Venice

I took a lot of pictures in Venice!!

A really cool day. It was chilly and sunny and windy and something about flooding?

but I spent the day mostly with Catherine (S.A.), Alex (PEI), and Connor (CO)

We basically were free to roam around this day I don't really remember learning that much but I was just thinking about The Thief Lord the whole time.

At our final dinner of the trip. we all got together and ate with 30 or us or whatever at some nice Venetian restaurant. we were exhausted.  and I remember there being some drama about some that found alcohol too early in the day and were not faring well at this point...
But we bussed home that night.

4/9 Murano/Burano

Where did we leave off....?
April 7/8 of 2012...
we left Pompeii and pisa and Sienna,
and drove north and east to Murano, and Burano, 2 islands in the Venice lagoon.
You can see Venice from there, but for some reason the only thing we did those days were these islands?
I'm trying to remember details.

These cities are famous for their colorfully painted buildings

right on the fishing shore

and then we had a formal dinner all together
I don't remember where or the occasion.

but it was very pleasant

and that night we snuck onto the beach and ran around and it was fun!

Restarting

This is Benton Bailey, original author of this blog!
I went to Northwestern, got a degree in theatre, and got a job in Orlando!
and through it all I kept all my photo albums pre-made ready to publish from my exchange in Belgium.  Most of the details have blurred away in my mind, but it should be a good exercise in nostalgia and synthesizing what I learned and how exchange changed me.
